At my Olympia newborn Studio, every family is special to me, but this one holds a truly special place in my heart. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of capturing their beautiful moments—from milestone moments to their most precious memories. And when they returned to the studio with their newest addition, a little miracle born at just 26 weeks, I was beyond excited to be a part of this chapter of their journey.

This incredible baby girl came into the world as a fighter, spending 111 days in the NICU before finally coming home. It was a touch-and-go start, but seeing her thrive now is nothing short of miraculous. As a photographer who specializes in newborn sessions, I always want the best for my littlest clients, and knowing her story, I had my reservations. I wasn’t sure if she would sleep peacefully or pose like a “typical” newborn, considering everything she had been through. But she proved me wrong—this little one did so amazing! Despite her early arrival, she was calm, peaceful, and a joy to work with.

But beyond the newborn portraits, it was the family portion of the session that really touched my heart. The love between these parents and their two daughters was palpable. Watching the bond between them all—especially with big sister—was something I’ll cherish forever. Big sister, who I had the honor of photographing during her first year, is now growing up before my eyes, and I’ve loved seeing how much she’s changed from one milestone to the next.

It’s a true privilege to have families return to my studio over the years, and it’s something that means the world to me. Being part of these special memories—capturing a growing, changing family—is a feeling like no other. Each session holds its own unique story, and I’m so grateful to have a role in documenting these chapters of life.
