Absolutely not! If your baby is already three or even four weeks old, don’t worry—there’s still plenty of time to capture beautiful newborn portraits. In fact, I photograph older newborns all the time.

At this stage, babies might be more awake and alert—but that just means we get to document more eye contact, expressions, and those adorable little personalities. Awake shots are just as special, and we can still get those cozy, sleepy poses once baby nods off.

Take a recent session as an example: this little guy was three weeks old and spent a lot of our time together wide-eyed and expressive. But he was calm, cuddly, and full of charm. I was able to capture a beautiful mix of awake moments, parent snuggles, and yes—even some dreamy, sleepy poses once he finally drifted off.
